Dirty Secret

Dirty Secret - Emma Hart OMG could this book be more monotonous, wash rinse repeat for 200 odd pages. I'm not saying the writing was bad (there were a few typos and a few very wrong spellings of words) I usually like this writer but this time I found myself skimming chapters hoping that something interesting would happen. But no wash rinse repeat!!!!!! This heroine, I found my self wanting to strangle her, with her self righteous guilt trip. A huge Plot hole is the fact that if she didn't want the hero or his family or for that matter the town to find out she had had a child by the Hero. Well in that case she should not have come back in the first place (ergo no Story) or at least she should not have come back when she knew he was coming back on a tour break. A much more convincing story of How the hero finds out about the baby could, should and would have been a better twist in the story.
There are many stories of this trope, rock star secret baby, but none so annoyingly irritating as the guilt ridden indecisive heroine. I got to the point where I wanted the hero (who was vey nice not the usual arrogant pompous idiot ) to take his kid run for the hills and find a new love and step mom for his child.
As I have said other books of this author I have found good and very good depending on the book but this one seems a paint by numbers effort and did not stir my beating heart to want to read about the other brothers as most of the characters were barely fleshed out and the ones that were the heroes were generally boring and the so called angst of the Heroine was really quite banal.

Eversea

Eversea - Natasha Boyd Bit disappointed could have been much better insta love was a bit unbelievable and I agree the characters did not have great chemistry. Maybe because Keri Anne's back story on her distrust or wariness of men was not fully explained. I found the second book a bit bit but still I had a big feeling of disconnect from these books I expected more but in reality it was a " Brutta copia" bad copy of Love unscripted/unrehearsed by Tina Reber.
Personally I would re-read her books or the one of Kimberly montague Accidental texting: finding love in the spotlight which is a much better book.
Hey ho maybe I can find a better book than these 2, although I did finish them so not a complete disaster.

Hardcore

Hardcore - Jenika Snow What complete and utter drivel and I'm a fan of this type of fiction.
Problems;
No real story
No real drama
No angst
No anything !!!!!!
Except badly written repetitive sex.

From the point of view of the writing
Grammatical and syntax errors abound, text reference errors make a confusing read as to who she is really talking about, and let's not get into spelling.
So, so disappointed as I have read other books by this author but maybe her writing has been tempered by Sam Crescent, who knows, but this book was repetitive to the nth degree both in terms of vocabulary example "I shouldn't have let her go " by the 10th page I GOT IT. Really!!!!
And the lack of real story. This was a book I slogged through hoping it would get better, it didn't, so it was a waste of 3 hours of my time and from this I don't think I'll ever read any more books by this author. For me it didn't even rate one star and that is saying something as even if the book is bad it's usually gets a star.
I rest my case!

Forbidden Disclosure

Forbidden Disclosure - Terri Marie Too twee a good book should have angst and a good antagonist neither of which was in this book.
Generally good writing but from a good idea it degenerated in to a boring déjà vue story with no real bite.

Malice's Possession

Malice's Possession - Jenika Snow My one star review really has nothing to to with the story line which was ok, a bit workhorse of type no real character development and I agree with many other reviewers that this story should have been about the hero and his girl. Too much time was devoted to another character who has his own book that follows this one and therefore the whole story feels rushed and forced.
On average I can read two to three books a day (very quick reader) and as an English teacher I can appreciate good writing. In general I read everything from harlequins to political thrillers but this book is astounding in the bad grammar, incorrect sentence construction, incomplete and frankly confusing paragraphs and worst of all the spelling mistaking hear and here, pliant and plaint. I really don't understand, this is a fairly big publishing house and quiet frankly I think the proof readers and editors were on holiday when this book came in or they just think the level of intelligence of the readership is very low. I almost didn't finish it and I don't know if I will read the next two books as I don't want to re read pages to understand what has been written. In fact it makes Fifty Shades of Grey look like a classic or even a masterpiece.

Untitled

Bound By Flames - Jeaniene Frost Just gets better and better, wow fabulous story telling, good plot twists and good writing. I was sad thinking this was the last in the series but now I have something to look forward to in 2016 and I will read the series again and again waiting for the new one
